It was so good to hear from everyone and know that everything is going well, and please don´t worry about the emails not making it through, I knew that was what happened. I thought I was just going to stay i n my old area but last Tuesday I was told otherwise . I really liked Granada and the people there. Now I'm back in Managua, just more in the city than where I was before . I'm in a suburb part where its not so dangerous and the church i s a little more established . I have a great companion : Elder Gomez (also from Guatemala ... there ' s a bunch of them here). He has about 6 months in his mission and all of this time has been spent here in this area . He's a really hard worker and we · re going to get along really well. I'm a district leader here and have a district of 1 O missionaries in total. Well I hope everyone had a good week and that everything is going well. I had a pretty good week, no baptisms but we went all over Nicaragua. Elder Paz and I got a call that we were needed to go to another zone in the mission to work with the missionaries there for a couple of days this week, so we went and spent the day in Juigalpa on Thursday. It was fun to get to know other elders and see the sights a little bit. We had a pretty long 6 hour bus ride to get there and when we got there we found out that Juigalpa is built on a bunch of hills and its really steep in places, consequently the missionaries there stay fairly fit (might not be such a bad place for me). But the drive there reminded me a little of eastern oregon because it was so long and everything was so dry. Then today we went to a volcano as a zone that's r...

We baptized again this last Saturday, no families but three kids. They ' re really cool and although the baptizmal service wasn't very heavily attended, it was nice. Here's a picture. So last Monday after writing home, we went over to the house of the branch president and they threw me a suprise birthday party. It was really nice of them and it helped me to remember that I'm loved from Central and North America. Elder Paz bought me a cake and apparently the tradition here is to egg you on your birthday (it feels kind of like confetti eggs but more runny and colder), in this case a picture speaks a thousand words . (the little 6 year old son of our branch president says that) But I had a very fulfilling birthday weekend, and the pictures should explain why. Saturday we baptized a mother and father named Francisco and Carla, another father to complete a family named Francisco, a man named Julio, a mother named Blanca and her son named Julio. It was the best gift I could have asked for and an evidence ofmy Heavenly Father's love for me as he remembered my birthday. The baptismal service was nice and I felt the spirit as we reaped the fruits of our labors. Francisco and Carla received a miracle as they were waiting for the divorce papers to come through. They left the courthouse here in Granada after hearing that it would be in May that their papers would come through and they were really dissappointed ea...

We (Elder Paz) and I baptized two youth two days ago (here's their pictures), they're both really cool. The little boy (Isreal is his name) was so excited for his baptism (even if it doesn't look like it in the picture) that he was all ready to leave for the church 3 hours early. The girl (named Rosa) was pretty upset this week because she wanted Elder Paz to baptize her, but we can't so we weren't sure if she was going to show up or not, but she did and was baptized by her uncle. (Oh I'm not sure ifl told you, but the missionaries in our mission can't baptize. Its a rule by Pres. Monestel to help the members have better relationships with the converts, he has a point) Anyway, we had a nice (slightly crazy) baptismal service Saturday because we baptized 7 as a dist...
