Ethan's Mission to Nicaragua

 Its so nice to hear from you all this week. All of those missionaries that are now leaving on their missions is surprising but they´ll be great. So they do celebrate valentine´s day here, but its nothing special. I didn´t remember that it really was valentine´s day until like half way through the day. But Friday made for a rough day for me. Not because I´m having problems nor my companions, just because sometimes Heavenly Father wants his children to learn patience, and that´s something that is sometimes hard for me. Lester and Zelenia were all ready for their Baptism on Saturday and as were we. Every time we pray with them, they ask that Heavenly Father would let them be baptized. I love them very much. So Lester never in his life has had a birth certificate so technically he desn´t exist. We spent the whole week looking through papers and talking to lawyers to get a hold of something that he could use to be able to get married, until Friday came around and we went early in the...

  So I had a really great week! But it sounds like everyone there is taking advantage of the snow and the free time that comes with it. For Emily, from what I remember I didn´t apply for very many scholarships and didn´t get as many as I was thinking, but it sure made it nice to think that while I was at BYU i had a little help with tuition. First of all on Tuesday we heard that Elder Tadiello was going to have changes and at the same time Elder Franco (my trainer) told me that he was going to have another grandchild! So we got to Managua and a really missionary got up to bear his testimony, who I thought was from the states. I think from all of the missionaries that came, he was the one who will make the most of his mission. President first told us who were the new zone leaders and Elder Mundell from Idaho is my new companion here in Juigalpa! He and I have a lot in common and we are going to get along really well.   So it sounds like your week went pretty well or at least that´s what the pictures seem to say. I´m sorry that I don´t have any good photos to send you for this week, but next week I should be able to send you some. I don`t have on me my driver´s license number right now but I`ll have to email it next week. I hope that that`s okay. But I hope everything turns out well for Mom in her work. This week we spent a couple of days in divisions with the other missionaries in the zone and it is still taking me a while to adjust to being alone on the bus between the districts here. We just have to plan it really well so that one of us doesn`t get there waiting for the other while he gets there. We did have our multi mission conference on Friday though.  Thanks for keeping me posted on what´s going on there at home, it sounds like things are going well and aren´t too out of the ordinary. So everything´s just about normal here in my area with Elder Tadiello and Elder Hernandez. Today we just went and bought food at the store and are writing now so its pretty boring I suppose, but the next Preparation Day will have to be better. I got a call from Elder Velasquez and he said that he received the package that you sent. He was very grateful and I think he´ll be sending an email your way so you´ll just have to translate it. We have some really special investigators right now and we´re excited to be teaching them but it was hard yesterday because no one came to church. I love them a whole lot and sometimes I´m not sure how to feel giving everything for someone that I just met and who has a posibility of not getting baptized.   Its good to hear from you all and it sounds like things went pretty well during the week. I had a really good week too it was just really busy. First of all, I got your second package! It was funny because they were both sent on the same date (Nov. 20), but one got here in the first part of December and the other now a month later. Thank you for all of the Christmas Candy, it was a little old but I lovingly ate it anyway :) I also got the Gunter´s Christmas Card. Tell them thank you for me and that I was very grateful for getting it. I hope they are doing well. So this week we made our crazy trip out to Bluefields! It was really interesting and fun to be in a place so different. The motor boat ride was a little sketchy but it sure made the trip more interesting. I never want to ride another bus again... but that´s the way it is here after our 4 hour bus ride out to the river we went up.
